Description: Here we have a finely molded and detailed 2 spout teapot dating to the early 1800s. The teapot has molded pineapples on either side. Pineapples were a symbol of hospitality dating to colonial times and are a desirable feature on early American pottery for collectors. The lid has an attractive knob and a vent hole to vent steam. The handle has a flat thumb grip on top of the handle and an extension over the opening to help hold the lid in place when pouring the tea. Measuring 8” in height to the top of the finial on the lid, the teapot is in excellent condition with only tiny glaze chips on the tips of the spouts and a glaze chip on the inside of the rim that doesn’t show. This teapot looks even better than as photographed and is an extremely rare and collectable piece of redware. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
