Description: For your consideration is an antique hand made wooden pantry box withdecorative painted metal trim around the cover and base. It measures4 5/8" across and stands 3" high. Being made of fragile thin wood, it isamazing this survived at all. It was found in Casseville, WI. This is one ofthe oldest settlements in Wisconsin due to the Mississippi River. The bottom trim was crimped for added appeal. Note where the woodensides are joined are cruded metal staples. The wood is very thin, and lines drawn horizontally which can be seen inside the box. There arealso tiny lines which can be seen inside the cover. The metal trim waspainted brown and has some flaking. The wood surface is dry anduntouched. A nice addition to an antique box collection.
