RARE CARTOON Punch Magazine "Almanack 1926" CALENDAR PAGE Santa Plays Saxophone

This illustration by Punch magazine head cartoonist Bernard Partridge is atypical non-political and, except for the printed calendar and the zodiac signs, all lettering, ribbons, and banners were hand drawn by him. + Shows Mr. Punch dancing with Miss 1926 (dressed like a flapper), and in the background is Santa sitting playing the saxophone and dog Toby at the drum. Note the last image is a framed mock-up for representational purposes only.Source: British PUNCH Magazine, published November 2, 1924, original, pulled from the magazine, not a modern reproduction. Page size 8 X 10 1/2 inches, including margins. Condition: very good indeed -- minor toning, trimmed close to left margin with sufficient paper for mounting if desired, in addition, the page has been humidified and flattened for easy framing; backside has unrelated print with some show-though, please look carefully, as published._________________________________________________________________________Over 5,000 Punch cartoons listed for sale (store category "Punch cartoons") -- humor, satire and propaganda; combine orders and save shipping charges. Questions are always welcome. If buying more than one, please use 'Add to Basket' instead of 'Buy now' then hit "send total" so I can adjust the invoice for shipping. Punch, a magazine of humor and satire, ran from 1841-2002. A very British institution renowned internationally for its wit and irreverence, it helped to coin the term "cartoon" in its modern sense as a humorous illustration.
