Born Hudson Woodbridge in Smithville Georgia 1908 (or possibly earlier),this man paved the way for bluesmen like Muddy Waters with his bottleneck guitar. Remastered from the 1920's and 1930's. Good quality and range . This style of blues was known as "Hokum" in the 1930's Chicago, as it had a more polished sound with it's accompaniments and structure. Many of the songs are accompanied by piano great Georgia Tom Dorsey. The depression dunked hard on the blues (at least the production of records). The guitar Wizard wasn't discovered again until the 1960's, and by then was in an ailing state. This CD is a great record of hard to find music!
