Description: RARE BENGALI NOVEL, INSCRIBED IN ENGLISH BY THE AUTHORLILA-MUKUL [Novel][Roughly translated to Divinely Playful Blossom]. By Amalesh Sen. Published by the Author, in Calcutta, India/ Printer, Atindranath Chowdhury, Phoenix Printing Works, [circa 1930?]. First edition; text entirely in Bengali. Inscribed by Amalesh Sen (in English) on the front flyleaf: "With the best compliments of the author. A.C. Sen." Original blue cloth binding (7.25 x 5 inches), front cover stamped in gilt, circa [100] pages. A rough translation of the introductory text, Shri Hemendra Lal Roy states: “Lilamukul is the author’s first book. Although it is the first book, the basis of Rasa Creation is not raw inside this book, moreover, the impression of future possibilities is also clear. And that’s why it will not be unfair to say one or two things about the library… Shri Hemendra Lal Roy.” Near fine condition, with the binding bright, text fresh and clean. Please examine images to help best assess condition. A rare Bengali novel-- as far as I can tell, entirely unrecorded and absent from the trade. I can’t find anything about the author either, which is intriguing. We have been selling on eBay for more than 2 decades. We pack carefully, ship quickly, and have thousands of happy customers.
