Description: Rare Antique STANLEY 6" Patented Type 1B Try Square, Ca. 1874-1887. This carpenter try square was given Patent No.151,254 on May 26,1874 to Justus A. Traut and assigned to The Stanley Rule and Level Co. It is in fairly good condition given its age. This tool is made of a cast iron stock, a steel blade and either lead or pewter depending on what research shows as an infill around the rivets that secure the blade to the stock. The blade is about 7-3/8" long with the 6" from the stock being graduated by 1/8" on both sides. The blade is about 1-5/16" wide and .05" thick. The stock or handle is about 4-5/16" long, 1.355" wide and .48" thick. It is Nickel plated and has the STANLEY in an oval logo embossed inside of it. Being sold as is as shown.
