Description: RETAIL $3650 ✯ SALE $950 DETAILSThis antique, porcelain covered urn is attributed to Chelsea, and may have been part of a garniture set. It is crafted in the style Meissen's snowball blossom (German: Schneeballen) decoration. It displays the soft paste body and the opaque glaze associated with Chelsea; the first English factory to make porcelain. It features applied florettes that imitate the work of the Dresden factories, along with vining, red berries. It is a rare survivor and a wonderful addition to any 18th century collection; and certainly a beautiful display piece.MAKERAttributed to Chelsea Porcelain Works (England, circa 1745-69)MARKSUnmarkedPERIODGeorge II (1727-60) | Mid 18th centuryDATECirca 1755DIMENSIONSWidth 4.5 Depth 4.5 Height 11.5 inchesCONDITIONNote: the flowers are intact; one berry is missing and there is slight damage to some of the leaves.
