Description: This offering is for the rare 2001 Steiff "XENIA" Cream (blond) colored Mohair Bear, about 17" tall (43 cm). This is a Limited Edition #660467. She is retired and is numbered #00401 of 1,500 (see ear tag photo). She is in Excellent Preowned Condition from a smoke-free, pet-free and child-free home. She was specifically made in Germany for Teddy Bears of Witney and was purchased directly from Teddy Bears of Witney. No certificate included.She is 5-way Jointed & has the Growler. She has stitched nose, mouth and paws. Her paws are also cream-colored. She has a hard body and her limbs were specifically made to be loose. She sold for $327 (US) in 2001, which is what we paid. Teddy bear Xenia is a fine bear for any Alfonzo collector. She is inspired by the The Russian Princess Xenia to whom the famous Alfonzo bear was given in 1908, by her father, Grand Duke George Michailovich of Russia. Steiff allowed Teddy Bears of Witney to have this bear made as they own the original Alfonzo that was sold at auction at a record breaking price. The bear is light blond and fully jointed with a growler and stuffed with fine shavings so she feel's like a real bear. She is 43 cm's tall. She wears a silk bow decorated with a portrait of Alfonzo that can be taken off. She has the limited edition white tag and button in her ear.
