Rare! 1988 Vintage Steuben 9.75" Crystal Bowl 1988 Dowler Footed Illusion #8564

Description: Illusion Bowl #8564. Clear lead crystal centerpiece bowl is made from one gather of glass. The Illusion bowls were distinguished by a shining depression in the base, meant to hold flowers. I could not find any available examples for sale but was able to find the piece in a 1989 catalog. Designed in 1988 by David Dowler. Steuben also made this bowl in a 15.25” diameter (#8565). This is the smaller of the two forms. Due to the absence of online presence of this form, I believe it to be relatively rare. Hallmarks: Etched script "Steuben" Approximate age: Designed by David Dowler in 1988 Dimensions: 9.75" diameter x 4" tall. Footed base has 3.25" diameter. Condition: Excellent giftable condition. No chips, flakes, flea bites, breaks, cracks, pits or other mentionable issues. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. On the edge of the polished pontil, light scratches on the base as might be expected if it was slid across a shelf - these are not visible except when base inspected from underside (not visible when sitting on table).
