This radio program was produced by The Permanent Charities Committee, which was a combined effort to raise money for various charities: Red Cross, The Community Chest Celebrities on the show speaking of the various charities include Ronald Reagan, Cary Grant, Al Jolson, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Ethel Barrymore, William "Hopalong Cassidy" Boyd, Dore Schary. This was one of Al Jolson's last radio appearances, he died two weeks later on October 23, 1950 Betty Hutton sings "There's No Business Like Show Business". Gordon Macrae sings "Love Thy Neighbor".
