Description: RARE! 1942 ISSUE OKLAHOMA A&M AGGIEVATOR WWII Era Campus Magazine Famous Alumni! Oklahoma A&M (Now OSU) Campus Mag w/Pete Tumlinson Cartoons & Coach Lookabaugh Culturally and historically significant! The magazine was written during World War II with relevant articles even mentioning Hitler offhandedly. Also, remember historically, that the US was only beginning to understand the atrocities of the Nazis and mostly knew nothing of the holocaust. This college magazine was published approximately 9 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. First, three of the cartoons/drawings were by Pete Tumlinson, who later was a significant cartoonist or Atlas comics that later became MARVEL COMICS! He was also the creator of the Ol Sarge mascot for Texas A&M University. This was also created by Tumlinson shortly his before military service I was a pilot. His war experience, surely served as an inspiration for his many cartoons/comics for years to come. To clear up any confusion, Tumlinson was at Texas A&M, but was a contributing cartoonist to Oklahoma A&M, which later became Oklahoma State University. Oklahoma A&M no longer exist by that name. Besides Atlas comics, Tumlinson was also famously known for Kid Colt comic series. Also importantly, an article features coach Jim Lookabaugh, who led the team to win the cotton bowl 34-0, just three years later in 1945. See photos, (DO NOTE the WATER STAIN in the upper right hand corner) and please reach out if you have any further questions. Thank you, Book Squirrel
