Published by Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce of America, Inc., 1938. Book is loaded with information on all sorts of aviation topics and includes maps, diagrams, illustrations, etc. The book is loaded with amazing photo illustrations. Illustrated annual describing new developments in aviation for 1938. Includes both military and commercial air operations, progress in manufacturing aircraft and engines, etc. Aside from some spotting to the binding and small area of loss at bottom of spine, book is in very good condition. The book is also signed by William Henry Atherton of "Boulton" on Henry Road in Nazareth, Pennsylvania on the front flyleaf. William Henry Atherton was resident of Nazareth, Pennsylvania and was a direct descendant of William Henry, a Pennsylvania gunsmith whose descendents built the Boulton Gun Works which was made famous for the Henry repeating rifle. Mr. Atherton was born in Wilkes-Barre in 1929 and grew up in Forty Fort. He graduated from Lawrenceville, and received his degree from General Motors Institute of Technology. He then joined the U.S. Marines, remaining dedicated to the Corps throughout his life. Mr. Atherton enjoyed a lengthy career in the aerospace industry as a marketing executive. He had many interests; chief among them was his love of flying. He was an avid glider pilot for many years. In 1985, Mr. Atherton moved to the Henry ancestral home at Boulton. A Henry descendent, Atherton worked tirelessly to see that the contributions of the Henry family and its legacy continue to be recognized. Very collectible!
