Description: "Recollections of the Adirondacks," by H.L. Ives, published by Elliot Fay & Sons, Potsdam, 1915, 124 pages, hardcover in linen-backed boards with gilt titles and embossed illustration, no dust jacket as issued, 9" by 6". First edition. Scarce Adirondack title, recounting adventures mostly in the Northern Adirondacks - hunting and fishing on the St. Regis and Grasse Rivers, deer hunting at the Massawepie Club, camping on the Raquette River, bear hunting, and reminiscences of Adirondack guide John Wait and of Potsdam hunter Allen Olmstead. Illustrated with nine great full-page portrait photos of some of the men featured in the stories, as well as a few full-page drawings and a full-page photo of the Massawepie Camp Club. Rare and recommended. In very good condition overall - interior clean save for a few light spots to title page, front hinge exposed (not cracked) and binding still firm, minimal soiling to cover, gilt still present and unrubbed.
