His family and relatives were with him. He was in the area for five years, coming from Memphis, Tenn. He was one of the strongest ball players in local area. He was employed as head sampler at the Miami mill, and had the reputation for being liked by everyone under him, and all with whom he came into contact with in his business. He was survived by his wife; son, Claude Jr.; a brother; and other relatives.
