Description: This rare 1910s "John Ashe" humidor litho 25 cigar tin, measuring 5 1/4" x 4 1/4", is in good condition with no rust, some dimple dents and some age related paint scratches, chips and discoloration. This very attractive tan faux wood tin was made by the Liberty Can Company, Lancaster, PA. It features a detailed portrait of John Baptista Ashe (1748-1802), a lieutenant colonel in the Revolutionary War who later became a member of the Continental Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Mr. Ashe's plantation raised the tobacco that was used in the "John Ashe" brand. The cigars were manufactured in Factory 342, 1st District, PA.
