Description: This rare 1900s “Main Brace" round litho 12 oz cut plug tobacco tin, measuring 4 1/4” x 5 3/4”, is in good condition with some minor superficial rust on the interior lid, a couple of dents and some age related paint scratches and chips. Much of the original high gloss finish remains. There are two large pieces of tax stamp. This very attractive bright orange and yellow tin features detailed graphic advertising "Main Brace" cut plug tobacco. The tobacco was manufactured by J. G. Dill’s. Tobacco Company, Richmond, VA in Factory 25, District, VA. The Dill Brothers were one of the oldest and leading producers of pipe tobacco in the United States at the time.
