Description: RARE 1897 Howe-Orme Mandolin DELUXE with original leather case. The sticker inside reads "PAT. AUG 24, 1897," "HOWE-ORME," model number "0430," and "ELIAS HOWE CO. BOSTON." The tailpiece is dated October 26, 1886. This rare mandolin has been repaired - hairline cracks on the right side have been reinforced (see photos), two tuning buttons have been replaced, and the last fingerboard MOP has been replaced. A couple more have been re-attached, and the tailpiece has been repaired with brass screws (see photos). The original leather case has been repaired, including the trap door (replaced).
