Description: Two original CDVs, the first, taken at Brady's Galleries, shows Civil War General Kilpatrick with his first wife Alice, who died in 1863. The second CDV, taken in Peru, is of his second wife, Luisa Valdivieso Araoz Kilpatrick, a wealthy Chilean woman who met and married Kilpatrick while he was serving as U.S. Minister to Chile (1865-1870). The couple had two daughters, one of whom was the grandmother of artist and designer Gloria Vanderbilt. A rare CDV, with original hand-coloring. Both are about 4" x 2.5". Boxed Priority Mail.
