Description: Raoul Serres, born in Cazères-sur-Garonne (Haute-Garonne) in 1881 and died in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1971, is a French engraver and illustrator. A student of Jules Jacquet, Henri-Joseph Dubouchet and Léon Bonnat, Raoul Serres was a member of the Society of French Artists in 1906 and exhibited at the Salon of this group. He obtained an honorable mention in 1898 and a third class medal in 1906. Grand Prix de Rome for engraving in 1906, he was professor of engraving at the Estienne school in Paris from 1932 to 1942.
