Description: The first photo is of a cut piece to show lapidarists what this material will look like once cut. This is for rough and natural Angelite, not cut, polished, or tumbled stones. Angelite often has a white powdery skin that will cover the majority of the stone. We do not recommend this stone for a private collection as-is, unless you know this is what you want. Angelite is a gorgeous stone that comes from Peru! Angelite is a form of Anhydrite crystal, that is often lapidary grade! It is generally on the softer side, and may need treated to give a mirror shine, or it can take a matte polish with some work. It cabs and works up beautifully with ease though! Angelite is often a gorgeous glacial blue, which makes it a very rare find in the semi-precious lapidary world! We recommend keeping Angelite dry. If you cab this material, please dry it between each stage as water will slowly turn the outer layer of Angelite to Gypsum. This is a pretty slow process, so you need not worry unless the stone will be wet for a long period of time. Most are fist sized to double fist sized. Some larger or smaller may be present. All in this listing are random pull. One pound is often about a handful, and generally includes 1-4 chunks, but can sometimes be more or less.
