Description: Ramones Road To Ruin Remastered/Extended CD Bundle/76 Debut/Leave Home/Loco Live In Barcelona 1991/Ramones Mania/Best Of Chrysalis Years/End Of The Century DVD. Here’s what you get in this Ramones Multi Media Bundle - Road To Ruin Remasterd And Extended Edition. All Hail Marky, the New Ramone! This was big news in the punk world, of course way back in 1978.Road To Ruin was Markys very first album with the band, and the beginning ofhis very long career as a Ramone. Tommy had enough, and wanted to pursue hiscareer as a producer and his other interests. Once a Ramone however, always aRamone. Tommy remained with the band as a producer, just the way that Dee Deeremained the bands chief songwriter after he left the band, much later in thelate eighties, thanks to Markys diplomacy. I find it amusing that Marky, one of the greatest, hardcore, speedcore drummers of all time, began his career as a Ramone with thequitest, softest record that the band ever recorded. Check out Markys Speedcore drummingstyle on one of the best live punk albums of all time Loco Live, included ofcourse in this little bundle. Marky was not just a hardcore drummer of course,he can do it all! Check out his finger clicking, Gene Krupa style drumming onthe track with Richard Hell. Blank Generation. A stone cold classic! Also listen to Markys drumming on Its Not My Place In TheNine To Five World. This style of drumming is known as punctuation, and is morecommon in classical music. Ringo did this in A Day In The Life on The Beatlesmasterpiece Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Ringo Starr was MarkysIdol, so it’s possible that Marky was influenced by this track, one of the bestsongs ever recorded. Also listen to Markys big dramatic drum roll on Lets Go, oneof the only 3 punk tracks on the Phil Sectors, multi layered, pop drenchedalbum End Of The Century, along with Chinese Rocks, and High Risk Insurance. Road To Ruin, to my ears is the most Sixties sounding albumthat the Ramones ever recorded. Joey and Dee Dee where maturing and gettingmore advanced compositionally on this record. I remember listening to a Lou Reed interview onthe radio and he stated that you just have to follow the process ofsongwriting, enjoy the journey and see where it takes you. He then said that hewas shocked when he wrote the song Jesus on the Velvet Undergrounds third LP,he did not intend to write a hymn, but it just came out of his soul at thatparticular moment. Warren Zevon said something similar on the bonus disc of hisbrilliant Preludes album when he said that Songwriting does not have a fictionand nonfiction section, you just have to go with it and edit later! The only reason why I am saying all this is because Road ToRuin is the only Ramones Album that sounds as if quite a few of the trackswhere wrote with other artists and types of genres in mind. I can very easily imagine any county act recording questioninglyor She Don’t come close or Even a really good country rocker like Steve Earle.I can even imagine Frank Sinatra singing these tunes on his downbeat Cyclesalbum that contained this type of country tinged material. Great modern day rock and rollers like Dave Edmunds, AlbertLee, Geraint Watkins or Nick Lowe would sound great singing she’s The One, oreven a rockabilly outfit like The Stray Cats. I think what might prove that I might be correct about this isThat the only song from this LP that the Ramones continued to use in the futureas part of their live set was the punk rock belter I Wanna Be Sedated. The Ramones never made another album in this vein, as far asI am aware no other punk band did either! A very interesting record sonicallyand compositionally, Punk Rock was beginning to explore and evolve! Also Included is – 5 Bonus Tracks including the best music on the MovieSoundtrack Rock And Roll High School and also a few cracking demos. A very detailed informative booklet with a huge essay, stunning Photography, full lyrics, session details and a tribute to Joey byRamones artist Arturo Vega. It’s really interesting seeing The Ramones eaglebeing conceptualised and drawn for the very first time. You will not hear this album sounding any better anywhereelse, its Remastered and blows my vinyl copy out of the water for speakershredding, high decibel enjoyment. Loco Live It was a totally inspired idea of brand new label Chrysalisback in the early nineties to get The Ramones to Record their best tunes live. Chrysalis now has these highly energised versions in theirback catalogue. The concert was in front of a loyal partisan audience inBarcelona in 1991, I love the way the band get the crowd in the mood byblasting out The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly from Clint Eastwoods spaghettiwestern trilogy. New Recruit CJ Ramone gelled with Markey, to create a muchmore hardcore thrash vibe than the previous live album Its Alive, from 1977. One of the best live albums of all time, how the heck didthey manage to play at this breakneck speed with only shouts of 1234 betweeneach tune. Ramones Mania This is actually The Ramone bestselling album. The last timeI checked it had gone platinum. 30 of the best tracks from the Sire label inthis absolutely, packed to the gills CD. This CD blew my mind when it was first released. I was usedto listening obediently The Ramones studio albums on vinyl, and I knew whattrack was about to start as another ended. It never occurred to me, for some reason that you couldlisten any other way! I just love the way that this CD jumped from album toalbum with impunity! You also get aGraveyard Family tree of all the Sire albums and a nice little essay bookletwith nice photography. The Best Of The Chrysalis Years. If you have this compilation of The Ramones later albumsalong with Mania, then you have a nice career spanning retrospective. The Chrysalis era is majorly underappreciated in my opinionby some of the fans. Mondo Bizzaro is one of The Ramones best albums, and PoisonHeart was one of the best singles of the nineties. All The Stuff And More! This CD blew the socks off me back in the late eighties. It contains the Ramones legendary debut album from 1976. Thisis the album that changed rock and roll forever. Also included is The Ramones Leave Home, the follow up albumfrom 1977. I was totally shocked when I heard the bonus previouslyunissued tracks, any other band would have killed to have these tunes as a sidesingles, the Ramones did not even bother to put them on an album! I was amazed at the quality of the audio sound; this CD blewmy old vinyl records out of the water for speaker shredding, high decibelenjoyment. I found out later thatthe improved sound was due to the expert remastering. This is one of the bestpunk reissues on the market for the tons of legendary material and the enhancedpurity of sound. End Of The Century DVD The great thing about this film documentary is you getinterviews with all members of the band, talking about their time in TheRamones. The footage is totally essential, and the DVD is loaded with specialfeatures. This is a story, so amazing, that you could not make it up ifyou tried. Thank you kindly for taking the time to have a look at thisRamones Themed, multi media bundles. 6 discs in total and 4 of them are doublelength albums. Plenty of material to get your teeth into!
