Includes articles on Director-General William McAdoo's sweeping plan to completely electrify the nation's railroads, information on the War Camp Community Services for servicemen, how express services handle the Christmas rush, how the railroads handled the crush of wartime freight service, anecdotes from the early days of the Canadian Pacific, Tales from the Knights of the Railroad Round-Table, By the Light of the Lantern Q&As, Southern' Pacific's "El Gobernador" locomotive which was the largest engine in 1884 but wouldn't steam, and more. There are no illustrations or photos in this issue, probably because of wartime shortages. 192 pages plus 18 pages of vintage advertisements. This issue is in Poor condition. The spine is heavily taped with chipping, creases, and tears. The pages are clean & unmarked but browned (color of toast) and most have split or chipped edges. The spine is chipped and has tears and creases, is taped and worn. Covers are worn with chipping to the edges, wrinkles & rubbing (see 1st and last photos).
