Description: Queen Victoria's Pottery Jug / Pitcher This Victorian "relief" molded jug has a scene of two seated children playing cards among various objects including a bellows, a pail, a bottle, and various other play objects. The name that is normally applied is "The Idle Apprentices." It is off-white with a blue painted rim, leaf decoration, and copper gilding and is 8 1/2 inches tall. The jug also has two old cracks near the top. The cracks are an innate problem with jugs of this construction. Otherwise, it's in good antique condition. Be sure to view the photos. It has been in the family for more than 70 years.
