Ovoid form decorated in brightly colored enamels depicting peonies and poems. 3 peonies are in a basket-like vessel on one side; 6 peonies are in a vase on the other side. On the jar’s left and right sides are poems. Both poems feature ancient script at the top, in red ink, and traditional Chinese characters beneath, written in black ink. Multi-colored enamel fills outlined spaces (verses a boneless free style). Hand painted on white porcelain glaze. Lid has paintings of one long feather, 2 Chinese treasure boxes, and 2 butterflies.DIMENSIONS: 13”H x 9”W. WT=5.40 lbs. CONDITION: Very good inside and outside.
