Description: PURCELL - "CEREMONIAL MUSIC" ARGO 1972 UK STEREO LP I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE TASK OF LISTING SEVERAL BOXES OF LPs ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND, THE MAJORITY OF WHICH ARE CLASSICAL TITLES. I WILL FREELY ADMIT TO KNOWING VERY LITTLE ABOUT THIS TYPE OF MUSIC, BUT WILL DO MY BEST TO GIVE AS MUCH INFO. AS I CAN ON EACH LISTING. ALSO PLEASE BE AWARE THAT, AS WITH MY OTHER RECORD LISTINGS, THESE WILL BE GRADED VISUALLY UNDER A BRIGHT HALOGEN BULB - THEY ARE NOT PLAY TESTED. I REALISE THAT CLASSICAL COLLECTORS IDEALLY LIKE THEIR LPs TO SOUND LIKE CDs, BUT PLEASE BE REALISTIC IN YOUR EXPECTATIONS. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL FIND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BELOW, BUT SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR NEED ANY OTHER PICTURES, THEN PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH. COMPOSER - HENRY PURCELL WORK(S) - "CEREMONIAL MUSIC" PERFORMER(S) - CHOIR OF ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE ORCHESTRA - ENGLISH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR / CONDUCTOR - GEORGE GUEST TRACKS - Te Deum Laudermus / Jubilate Deo in D / Complete Funeral Music (please see pictures above) FORMAT - Vinyl LP OTHER DETAILS - • Argo ZRG 724, UK pressing • Dated 1972 • Front-laminated sleeve • Poly-lined paper inner • "Penguin Stereo Record Guide recommendation" sticker to front coverAlso features Symphoniae Sacrae, Charles Brett and James Bowman (counter tenors), Ian Partridge (tenor), Forbes Robinson (bass) and treble soloists Malcolm Creese, Simon Keenlyside, Robert King, Robert Smith and Paul Williams. The sleeve shows just minor signs of age with a tiny 'ding' to bottom left corner and a few small, pale spots to unlaminated rear (top left only) - please see pictures above. The record is visually a clean EX+, the spindle traces suggest just 1/2 plays only. Please see all pictures above an if you have any questions or need any more info., don't hesitate to get in touch. Cover and labels are as seen in the pictures above (actual item shown) - see below for record grading, which obviously applies to records which have been played ONLY! Please note that all vinyl is visually graded under a bright halogen bulb - it is only play-graded if specifically stated. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING1) Remember that I can send up to 30 x 7" singles in the UK for only £3.95 (Royal Mail 2nd Class), any other quantities or formats please get in touch first. IF YOU WIN MORE THAN ONE ITEM, PLEASE WAIT FOR MY COMBINED INVOICE BEFORE PAYING - IF YOU PAY FOR EACH ITEM SEPARATELY I CANNOT REFUND THE EXCESS IN FULL DUE TO EBAY FEES!2) All records come in a sleeve - a picture cover, a company sleeve (original or, if stated, a new repro) or a plain white or black paper or card sleeve. Covers and labels are as seen in the pictures above (actual item always shown) - see below for record grading, which obviously applies to records which have been played ONLY! Visual gradings are as above.3) I consider a surface mark or a surface scuff to be mark(s) which you can see but that are on the top surface of the record only and as such are 'non-feelable'. If you can actually feel a mark - for example, with a finger nail - then I would consider that to be a 'scratch' which would likely cause 'ticks', 'clicks' etc. during play. Any such marks will be clearly mentioned above.4) Due to time constraints, all vinyl is visually graded under a bright halogen bulb - it is only play-graded if specifically stated. Please see all pictures above and if you have any questions or need any more info., don't hesitate to get in touch. POSTAGE AND PACKING UK - £4.50 by Royal Mail 2nd Class or £5.20 Royal Mail 1st Class. 'Signed For' service is extra. ELSEWHERE - please select the 'Postage & Payments' tab, then choose your country from the drop-down menu and click on 'get rates'. Note that quoted prices are for STANDARD/UNREGISTERED/UNTRACKED services - please ask for a quote for tracked services BEFORE paying - thanks. If items in a single parcel total £20 or more, then the parcel MUST be sent by a tracked service (NO exceptions, sorry) - in this case, please WAIT for my invoice before paying. Incorrect payments will be refunded and a correct invoice sent if necessary. VINYL GRADING NEW: note that still sealed items will be presumed to be in 'new' condition, but are obviously sold as seen. Any visible signs of wear/storage etc. beneath the shrinkwrap will be mentioned. MINT: note please note that I will NEVER use the 'MINT' grade, as I think you are asking for trouble! The highest grade for an item that is not new will use will be NM (Near Mint). NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in very close to 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in almost perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and maybe some occasional light scratches. If there is any surface noise it will be occasional, light and unobtrusive. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has obviously been played a lot and while it still plays through OK, it will have a lot of surface marks and/or light scratches (maybe also the occasional 'feelable' scratch) and most likely there there will be regular and noticeable surface noise. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine and/or seam splits, discoloration, etc. TERMS & CONDITIONS *Important* - the ONLY countries I will send to by uninsured mail (for item(s)under £20) are as follows: - UK. Europe (EU countries ONLY and Norway). USA and Canada. Australia, New Zealand and Japan. If you live anywhere else then your parcel MUST be insured, the cost of which is to be covered by the buyer. Very sorry, but NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. If you live in a country that I am prepared to send by regular, uninsured mail please bear in mind that I always get a receipt and proof of posting for every item sent, but THERE WILL NOT BE A TRACKING NUMBER UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR INSURED/TRACKED MAIL. Should an item take longer than expected to arrive, I will do everything I can to help, but please don't assume that there is a tracking number! Most overseas buyers seem to assume this, for some reason! If you want the item to be tracked, please choose the International Signed and/or Signed & Tracked service option at checkout - thanks! Finally, please note that if your item (or if the combined values of the items in a single parcel) is £20.00 or above, then tracking/insurance is compulsory wherever you live. This is extra for 'Signed For' in the UK (up to the value of £50, after which extra cover will need to be paid for by the buyer) or via International Signed and/or Signed & Tracked for overseas buyers. In this case, PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE BEFORE PAYING - any incorrect payments will be refunded and reinvoiced - sorry, but no exceptions. Blame Brexit and increasingly dodgy mail services!
