Description: Incredible document from Königsberg in 1612. Measures 16 by 13 inches. Here is the translation. Winner will also get the literal transcription. Copy By the Grace of God, We Johan Sigismund Margrave of Brandenburg of the Holy Roman Empire, Archchamberlain and Elector of Prussia, of Jülich, Cleve, Berge, Stettin, Pomerania, of the Kashubians and Vendens also of Silesia, of Croßen and Jogerndorf, Ducal Burgrave of Nuremberg, Prince of Rügen, Count of the Mark and Rauensburg, Lord of Rauenstein, we confess and proclaim with this official letter of ours that Paul Boltz has presented himself to us in subjection and has requested that the six Huben and the Schankrecht zu Bezdan in our district of Tilse be ceded to him for sale and be assigned to Cöllmisch Rights, on which he has lived and cultivated until now until our final declaration. We have graciously granted these submissive requests. Accordingly, by virtue of this letter, we sell and pledge to the aforementioned Paul Boltz, his heirs, hereditary lords and future owners, on behalf of ourselves, our heirs and the descendant lordship, the six Huben and the Schankrecht in Bezdan in our district of Tilse, which he, Boltz, has previously managed and owned as a tenant, henceforth as heir to Cöllmisch Rights. In return, he, Boltz, shall immediately pay one hundred Marks for each Hube and then also one hundred Marks as official purchase money for the right to the tavern, making a total of seven hundred Marks, and in addition, he shall pay interest on each Hube, in particular another ten Marks tax annually to our office in Tilse. And what else he, Boltz, his heirs and future owners of these Huben and the right to the tavern must commit themselves to and make themselves available for in official matters, they shall obediently declare themselves willing to do at any time … ? … ? ... … and according to the above discussion, the six Huben and the tavern right shall then be measured and demarcated when he will have paid the demanded seven hundred Marks, which he ... ? ... ... for himself, his heirs, hereditary lords or future owners to possess, use, enjoy and utilize by Cöllmisch rights. In order to certify this, we have had this letter confirmed with our confidential pre-written letter and the signature of our senior councillors. Done and enacted in confidence at Königsberg, October 3, Anno 1612
