A newer generation, more robust sensor with a more reliable connector is used for improved durability & performance.This kit offers a solution to the recurring CAM sensor problems many Miatas face. We also offer a Spec Miata version for SCCA rules restricted cars and a professional / unlimited version for cars that don't have a rules limitation on this modification. This sensor also fits the MSM MX-5 with ~2 inches of hood clearance for wiring. SNSR-100561 : This is a Miata CAM sensor with external plug for Spec Miata which meets SCCA and NASA rules. A newer generation, more robust sensor is modified to race quality specifications for improved durability & performance. A simple to crimp Deutsch 3-Way Connector is applied to the wiring and a mating connector kit is offered for the harness side connection. This kit offers a solution to the recurring CAM sensor problems many Miatas face. We also offer a production version for street cars and a professional version for cars that don't have a rules limitation on this modification.From the SCCA/NASA rules, here is the relevant regulation. SCCA 9.1.7.1.o.9/NASA 12.17.1: An electrical pigtail ranging from 3” to 6” in length and terminated with any 3 pin electrical connector may be soldered and potted to the OEM cam sensor for the purpose of correcting a known issue with the factory connection. The factory harness connector may be removed and replaced with the appropriate mating connector. SNSR-100563 : This is a Miata CAM sensor with shielded wire and external plug for STL Miatas where rules allow modifications to wire harness and aftermarket ECUs . A newer generation, more robust sensor is modified to race quality specifications for improved durability & performance. A Deutsch 4 Way Connector improves the contact system over the stock implementation. The kit includes 60" of shielded Raychem tefzel wire to terminate at the ECU.
