Compared to its bigger brother the Proscan III, this one is a lot lighter with a far smaller footprint. It does not have encoder functions (paid upgrade on Proscan III). Great device for system integration. It connects to DB15 15 pin stages, three rows type, plenty going around.The z-axis drive is a DB15 plug, two rows. Older prior Z-axis drives used DB9. I opened one and found zero extra stuff in there, however, the newer motor is more powerful. I think that was the reason behind this plug change, as overpowering a lower rated motor will cause it to heat up. That said, it is possible to adapt the older ones. This device can be controlled via micromanager, NIS Elements, Cellsens, LabView and so on. Free worldwide postage.
