Description: This is a wonderful one of a kind hand sculpted black doll. She has a wonderful face, sculpted hands and feet. Her dress is a brown print with a wide ruffle around her neck. She has a purse attached out of red fabric like her hat. She has a tall pointed hat from a red fabric. Overall she’s 13” tall plus her hat. There is a note that says “Dear Santa I would like to have a nice new pair of little red shoes if it won’t be too much trouble. I love you Santa. Isabelle XOX”. On the other side is Verlene Brooks Original. On another tag it says One of a kind sculp by Verlene Brooks. Hand signed on both tags. I looked her up on goggles and found a nice picture of her. She listed herself as a folk artist but says she stays at home and puddles around her studio and gardens. I saw some tutorials she has put on Pinterest but nothing like this girl. This is a treasure. I’m 81 and having to downsize my wonderful collections. Thanks for looking.
