Press Photo Cowboy Actor Ken Maynard in Early 1930s and in 1962 - lrb41102 Ken Maynard, 77, old-time cowboy actor, died Friday night at the Motion Picture Country Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. He was a veteran of some 300 movies dating from 1923 to 1947 and the last of the "Big Four" of early Western movie heroes. Picture at left shows Maynard in the early 1930's, exact date unknown, and at right he is shown after practicing rope trick outside of his trailer in the San Fernando Valley in August of 1962.
