Description: Our premium doll eyes are available at an affordable rate to promote doll artistry and childhood dreams. Size: 16mm Feature: Open and close blinking Eyelid Color: nude Note that all eyes come with standard nude lids. The eye pieces come apart so that you can paint the eyelid any color. Although you can try matching the exact paint of your doll's skin tone, we find it much easier to go with a neutral tone like gold to pair with darker skin tones or you can choose any color to look like eyeshadow. When customizing a full doll, since the process of replacing eyes uses boiling water to the head, we recommend that you don't paint your doll's face until after you change the eyes. Boiling water can ruin a face-up and may be difficult to repair. Starting with your eye replacement is the first step, then following with doing your face-up and wig replacements afterwards has the best result. Upgrades your factory doll eyes with more color options and more realism than the standard eyes that come with the doll. Large eye orders will come in foam inserts. To replace your doll's eyes: 1. Remove the head from the body 2. Plug any holes such as imperfections in the vinyl or pierced ears with painter's tape 3. Place the head upside down on top of a towel in a small bowl (smaller the bowl, less likely the head will move when pouring water) 4. Use the towel to keep the head from moving inside the bowl and keep it steady. 5. Boil water and pour into the head 6. Wait - you want the head to heat up so that it is completely squishy, if it is not soft enough you will have to repeat the process to reheat the head 7. Using latex gloves, gently pour the boiling water out 8. Stick your gloved hand into the head and firmly press at the back of the eye sockets. Best to do this in an area where you can catch the eye as it uses some force and the eye comes racing out - an empty counter top or and empty sink with a plugged drain 9. Take the new eye and firmly press it against the eye socket in the front. Don't worry so much about placement yet, getting the eye in before the head cools is tricky so it's more important to get it in the socket quickly or you will have to re-heat the head. 10. Once the eyes are in, you can use anything with a blunt bottom to reposition the eyes (nothing sharp as you can scratch the eyes). My favorite is a ball tipped crochet tool. I start at the corners of the eye and gently press down on either side to reposition the eye. Once the eye is positioned in the socket the way you like, you are finished. Note: if positioning the eyes or getting the eyes in becomes difficult, simply re-heat the head. It may be that the head has cooled too much and is making you struggle. Practice is key, once you get the hang of it, eye swaps become much easier. Doll pics courtesy of It’s a Doll Life
