Description: Precision B-12 (Identical to Eico 1030) high-voltage tube power supply An essential tool for testing tube amplifier circuits and especially useful in testing power-tubes under full operating conditions. Power supply delivers a regulated B+ at up to 400 VDC up to 150ma (with an easy tweak to a calibration pot, you can get up to 435VDC safely). Simultaneously it can deliver a -V bias up to -150VDC. Also supplies 6.3vac and 12.6vac for powering heater circuits. Most tube-testers max out at 250 volts (many are much less) and test power tubes with impulses. Using a power supply like this, you can run a power tube at full operating conditions and get an accurate steady state plate current reading at a given bias that you can compare with the published tube data. Great for power triodes like 2A3, 300B, 45 and so on. And with a few resistors you can properly set up power pentodes like 6L6GC, EL34, 6550, etc. And with a little more circuitry and a DMM, you can get GM measurements under full operating conditions. This power supply is near mint condition. The tubes were checked and replaced as needed. Otherwise it's 100% original. Capacitors inside all checked good. But fortunately, if you prefer to replace them, they are all low-cost, easy to replace axle-leaded caps. Due to age and the fact this is based on tubes and has very old circuitry in it, unit is sold AS-IS without any warranty.
