Once base is filled with water....a simple on/off switch on the side of the unit will be used. Three positions.....OFF.....WATER WITH MUSIC.....WATER WITH NO MUSIC. Electronic music box song "Waltz Of The Flowers" can be heard. The water flow is QUIET. Not much sound can be heard at all....mainly just visual. Fountain does NOT continuously stay on and constant run! Operates approximately 40-45 seconds before shutting off. It is sound activated. As soon as the unit hears sound it will repeat the process.
