Description: Offered for your consideration is a pre-WWII Cleartype General Map of the World. This map measures 50" x 38", and is from a single-family, non-smoking home. While the map shows corner tears and some tears along the original fold lines, but it has only recently been opened after having been in storage for many decades. No copyright information is shown; approximate age was assessed based on presence of German flag bearing the swastika emblem, and the presence of many African countries bearing colonial-era names, as well as the absence of the State of Israel. The Hawaiian Islands and Philippine Islands are shown as being US protectorates, and Taiwan is also listed as Formosa. An interesting piece from a pivotal time of world history, and a potential candidate for lamination and display, if handled with care during the process.
