Description: Item is in GOOD Condition. It has some minor shelf wear. The pages inside are in very good shape with no highlighting, marks, or writing. There are no dog-earred or bent pages, but there is a water stain which starts on the inside cover and goes through the contents page; it stops there and does not continue through the rest of the book.The majority of the pages are fine and don't have this mark. (It looks worse in the photos than it actually is). The laminated cover is in good/acceptable shape with no scratches or tears; there is buckling from the water stain on the front cover and the bottom front edge; there is minimal fraying along the edges and minimal wear on the foot and crown of the spine from shelf rubbing. There is creasing along the spine, but the spine binding is tight with no loose pages. (please see pictures as they are part of the description). Overall in good condition.This is a memoir by Madeleine Albright about her family history and the history of Prague, Czechoslovakia during World War II and the aftermath. It also speaks to the experience of Jewish families during this period in Prague and their losses during the Holocaust, as well as to the history of Czechoslovakia during the rise of Communism and the Soviet Union. A fascinating memoir with lessons from the past for the present. Recommended.
