Description: POSTER OF SETH EASTMAN: A Portfolio of North American Indians a book published by Afton Historical Society. The picture on the print is entitled "The Laughing Waters", as printed in the lefthand lower corner of the poster. This was painted in 1852, a watercolor drawing. Seth Eastman (1808-1875) served in the U. S. Army as a mapmaker and illustrator, ultimately painting hundreds of studies concerning American Indian life which were published in Henry Rowe Schoolcraft's six-volume history of the tribes. This poster is made of glossy paper and it measures 17" x 22." Very good condition. Small chip at top left corner. The ends curl up from being rolled up. Thanks for looking!
