Back of duvet is same fabric with no design - closure is a small zipper across bottom of Duvet. Has ribbon at inside corners to tie to duvet edges. Nonsmoking home - color may vary by device. The only flaw I can find is that on each sham there are some tiny pin holes in the middle. (see pic) The shams open from the side and have an envelope closure.
