The actual lens that gives you the wide angle view cannot be changed in the contourhd, believe me we tried. The cmos chip is a 1/3"sensor We dont suggest you tear your contourhd apart unless its just broken junk not in warranty anymore. Then lens inside is worth saving if your camera is dead, worth about $25-35.00 m12 thread 2.8mm. Another valuable piece that is salvageable. You can easily replace the mounting slider grooves on the side of the unit if yours became damaged. This is done by removing 7 screws 3 on each side of the camera, & 1 up by the front of the lens.
