This volume appears to have been owned by James Hardy Dillard as his signature is one of the previous owners at front. Both volumes signed in pencil by Hardy. Hardy was a well known academic and educator who advocated for educational opportunities for African Americans. Overall books are in good + condition. Wear to boards. Soiling. Front boards have worn down the raised piece that was present. Previous owners signatures. Both both volumes. A previous owner book plate as been removed.
