The handle also folds down and then clips into place to make it smaller as you can see in the final and last picture. 🚨 don’t buy one of these on eBay cheap that is untested. It is very important that it be tested and in working order. I spent approximately the last four hours going through this getting it perfect 🚨 🚨 a vintage reel like this that has not been used and is even brand new will not necessarily work because the plastic and the parts are very old and even the brand new ones fail. You absolutely have to make sure to buy one that is tested that actually works. 🚨 I have taken this real completely apart and spent approximately four hours lubricating every single bearing and spindle. It now functions as a brand new reel however it looked like brand new before and you can’t just trust looks. Old electronics are the same way. Even if brand new Plastic starts sticking together and people wonder why the brand new vintage radio control car they bought does not work. Everything has to be lubricated again. Everything has to spin and turn freely and until you get it to that point it’s considered otherwise broken even though sellers call it brand new. I fix electronic radio control cars that are brand new every single day along with fishing reels, etc. just because it’s brand new doesn’t mean it’s going to work. You need to make sure that the seller has tested, the product and that it works and then it spins freely. The only way to test this particular real is to take out the two Phillips screws and pull out the reel mechanism. That is where you will load new fishing line in to it and everything. This looked like brand spanking new. I noticed some corrosion on the screws so I investigated further and four hours later I was done rebuilding it. What I thought would be a simple five minute auction turned out to be so much more. So don’t just buy a cheap piece that has not been tested because it will not work. I can almost guarantee you without the shadow of doubt. it’s worth it paying extra money to make sure that this is tested and working. In photo 2 you will see the secret compartment inside the handle to hold tackle and fishing hooks. This is a tacklebox and fishing pole all in one. This real is absolutely flawless, except for the two screws that hold the reel in. I would like to replace those and then it will be a brand new reel but I’m trying to list this on eBay and I don’t have two brand new screws to put in there right now. I did clean the screw as well as lubricate the screws with a PB blaster so they will be easy to remove and reinstall, but every time you go to put more line on this real or have to fix some string that is cut you will have to take out those two screws and remove the actual real from the plastic housing. This is just the way this is built. It is an absolutely clever design and absolutely one of my very favorite reels that I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had one of these since I was a young child and grown up with these, they are so handy for pocket fishing and stash in the trunk of your car or even under the seat of your car. Just make sure beyond the doubt has been tested and does work. That’s the reason price is going to be higher than theirs. You’re going to get yours that might even be brand new and it’s not going to function and you’re going to have to spend hours and rebuilding it. This one is ready to go. Lots of bubble wrap and packing paper and heavy duty Home Depot boxes for delicate shipments. Our shipments always arrive in perfect condition and not crushed. It’s just about how you packaged them.
