Description: This is a 6 1/2" x 9" soft cover with a spiral plastic binding, and 220 pages all in pristine condition, offering a collection of Norwegian-American recipes compiled by Volunteers of the Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa, now Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum. Norwegian immigrants arrived in the 1850s and some of these recipes date to the nineteenth century., and many of the recipes include the original Norwegian spelling. All the recipes include the contributors' name. The museum first offered 2 classes in 1967, one was rosemaling taught by Sigmund Aaseth of Volvu, Norway, the artist who did the cover of this book, and Hardanger Embroidery taught by Carola Schmidt. The artists Thelma and Edna Olsen of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, did all the quaint illustrations throughout the book, and their signatures are on the Title page.
