Description: Scarce Spiral Bound version of the Famous Bernard of Hollywood Pin-Ups... A Step Beyond. Once in a while you may come across the magazine version (which has less pages), however this is the expanded 128 page soft cover book. The purpose of this book was to show " A novel approach to the art of Pin-Up Photography Bernard of Hollywood Camera Techniques Fully Revealed. " Bernard of Hollywood Publishing Co., Hollywood 46 California © 1950 Each sweet gal is given a full page black and white photo on the right hand side. On the left side we find a black and white drawing of how the photo was stage and photographed. Also included are notations regarding the shoot, including film speed, shutter speed, aperture setting, etc. This book is most famous for an early appearance of Marilyn Monroe. There are a few other notables such as: Lili St. Cyr, Burlesque queen; Maila Nurmi (later to be Vampira and a star of "Plan Nine from Outer Space"); Barbara Nichols , a fifties B movie starlet, including "Where the Boys Are". Neva Gilbert, the July 1954 Play Mate of the Month. Pretty good condition. Crease on the front & spiral has a slight crack in it. The inside is in amazing condition.
