GENEALOGY BUFFS will find a list of 1888 county officers and businesses, and biographies of Caleb Atwater, historian; Judge John Cradlebaugh; and Samuel Lutz. The Howe history covers the development of this area until about 1890, while excerpts from the WPA book, give a nostalgic glympse from a 1940 vantage point, including interesting historical notes, especially as they relate to sightseeing possibilities. A 1933 look at the history of newspapers in the county, items from a 1941 history on Chief Cornstalk, the Logan Elm, Chief Logan's speech, Circleville and Virginia and Genevieve Jones, mother and daughter bird illustrators, a map showing the 88 Ohio counties and a map of 1805 Ohio are also included.
