Description: The print offered here is a signed etching/drypoint by the American artist Philip Kappel (1901-1981). The subject is one of Kappel's favorites a maritime scene with a sailboat in the center. Two men are in a boat that is apparently under tow by the sailboat. As usually the case with a Kappel etching, the design and image are striking and dramatic in black and white. The print is signed by Kappel in the lower right corner. Below the image, the words "Plate destroyed" has been penciled in. The number "24' in written in the lower right hand corner and the words "M. Law" in the lower left hand corner. This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
