Improved thickness 5052-H32 aircraft quality Aluminum chassis, 0.080” thick instead of original 0.062” thick. 2. Precision laser cut for exact dimensions. Precision press brake formed for exact fit. Modern technology making an old classic even better. 3. Welded miter flange in each corner rather than weak open miter. Increased corner strength with the addition of corner radius to extend the weldment length. 4. Improved structural integrity by connecting the top and bottom covers in 9 locations each instead of the original 5. Structural integrity improvement especially in the transformer area, a common weakness of the original chassis. 5. Converted self-tapping type screws to Black Oxide, button head, 6-32 machine screws to eliminate the stripping out problem prevalent on original chassis. 6. Provided clinched in 4-40 machine screw Pem Nuts for the thermo-switch chassis attachment points. 7. Provision for high quality, Swiss made, Schurter snap-in IEC C-14 AC inlet connector instead of hard wired AC cord. Allows the owner to use the AC cord-set of their choice and quality level. 8. Includes top and bottom covers, IEC snap-in inlet and 18 each 6-32 x 1/4" black oxide, stainless steel, button head hex screws for attaching top and bottom covers. 9. Chassis has been designed to be common to both PL400 and PL400 Series 2 chassis faceplates. Hole provisions are made in chassis to accommodate either option. 10. Roomier chassis allows much better spacing (please see the last photo above to visualize the extra room inside this chassis): a. Width dimension is the same as original b. Chassis depth increased by 1-3/8" to 5-3/8” c. Chassis height increased 1/8” to 6-5/8” 11. Provided with matching top and bottom covers with new size and strengthened mounting hole patterns. 12. Compatible with White Oak Audio Design PL400 Backplane Board Kits to totally eliminate all of the original TO-3 sockets. 13. Compatible with White Oak Audio Design PL14_20 Control Board Kits and Assemblies. 14. Compatible with the original TO-3 sockets should you desire to keep the original wiring style. 15. Compatible with original equipment RCA input jacks, fuse-holders, Speaker Output Binding Posts and Transformer. Additional hole provided for the meter sensitivity switch mounting if you install the White Oak Audio Design PL400 light board with the selectable meter sensitivity settings (Revision C or later). 16. Compatible with original equipment PL400 Series 1and PL400 Series II heat-sink fin assemblies. 17. Beautiful, brushed aluminum finish with deep black anodize plating throughout. 18.
