The legendary pipe importer Töff Seiffert was visiting his friend Jim Nicholson in Dublin to buy novelties for the German market. After a hard days work, a pint in the pub was very welcome. It is said that both men could hold their liquor, and that their creativity bloomed after a few pints. As their eyes fell on a portrait of Sherlock Holmes with his famous pipe, both knew what to do. The first pipe that emerged out of Peterson’s workshop was ‘The Original’. Six more shapes followed. The Return series followed with seven more pipes.
