Description: CDV (cartes de viste) photograph of a baby, identified as "Clare Persons - 1882" on the reverse.Winifred Clare Persons was born 27 August 1882 in Manson, Calhoun, Iowa, daughter of Judson M. Persons (1846 - 1922) and Mary Jane Hitchcock (1851 - 1920). On November 24th, 1915, she became the second wife of Cyrus Millard Mohler, born March 1859 in Lynn County, Iowa, the son of Isaac Mohler (1827 - 1890) and Eliza Jane Barclay (1836 - 1911). They had two children, both dying in childhood. Cyrus passed away at age 95 on the 18th of February, 1955 and was laid to rest beside his first wife, Lucy, in Carroll City Cemetery, Iowa. Clare was then briefly married to Dr. Judson F. Lee before his death in 1956. Clare died 4 June 1974 in Ottawa, Kansas. She rests in Carroll City Cemetery, Iowa. Clare's portrait measures 4.25 x 2.5 inches and was created by B. S. Williams, photographer, of Mason, Calhoun, Iowa. It is in very good to excellent condition for its age, but as it is over 130 years old, it is not perfect. Please see photo scans for inspection.
