They were first used in the 1860s for landscape views, eventually adapted to portraits, and had greatly declined by the 1890s. From a family collection. I'm unsure of the previous owner, but their relatives included Phil Chase, Everett Shearer, Fred Shearer, Bruce Elrod, Lillie Hollingbaugh, Fred Hollingbaugh, Margaret Sharp, J. E.
