Description: This is one of the rarest and most unique American composite dolls' made between 1913-1922. PD Smith started the American Beauty Doll Company with his wife and daughter when German bisque dolls became difficult to get because of the war. This charming little girl has a stuffed cloth body and composition head, shoulder, and limbs. She is in fairly good condition considering she is over a hundred years old. She does have about an inch an a half superficial peeling on her leg. Her shoes and outfit are original and bear the American Beauty Doll Company tag. (see Photos). She is has a mohair wig attached but I believe that may of been added later. (I am not sure.) It is difficult to get a lot of information about theses doll because so few were made and even fewer survived. This is the first time she come up for sale since she was originally sold.
