Description: Paul Rudolph :The Late Work, A RARE SIGNED FIRST EDITION by Roberto De Alba,2003. With a forward by noted Architectural writer and longtime champion of his work, Mildred Schmertz’ this book chronicles the last decades of Paul Rudolph’s long career from 1968 through 1996. These works, hand picked by Mr. Rudolph himself, illustrate his articulation of light, manipulation of space and his juxtaposition of mass and void that are the trademarks of his genius. The book includes an astonishing variety of built and unbuilt projects including private residences, corporate and residential towers, chapels and urban planning. The works are illustrated through scores of Rudolph’s signature colored pencil drawings, renderings, models, photographs and includes his last documented interview with Architect Peter Blake. The books owner was a former employee and confidant of Mr. Rudolph and was invited to the book signing in Manhattan on 10/7/2003, where this signed copy was procured. A second unsigned copy was subsequently given to the owner and this copy had been in storage for 17 years. Includes announcement card invitation for the book signing.(see photo #3) Condition is "Like New". Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
